Principal’s Message

Dear Parents:

Yes, this can be truly a season of joy and celebration with family and friends!! Even when times are a bit more difficult as they are now, we can all share a joy in knowing that we have come together around our children and their futures.  All of us here work with all of our children to make each day another step toward their great futures and we appreciate your help and support in those efforts.

There are many school responsibilities that face your student each day and even when times are exciting, school work and daily performance are of significant importance.  Continue to let us know if your child needs help, falls behind, etc. and we will all work it out together.

Take some time to study our list of students who made the Honor Roll and Principal’s List.  We are proud and encourage them to keep up their good work!

It feels good to do something for others and we want to thank you for our very successful canned food drive.  Thanks to each of you, your students and Mrs. Scherr this endeavor.

MARK YOUR CALENDAR -  December 22nd!  Our primary students and their teachers are working hard on their upcoming performance and we hope that you can join us for another WONDERFUL Church Lane show! I truly recommend it as the way to start the festivities for the holiday season.

JUST IN CASE, all the important information that you need regarding school closings, early closings and late openings is included in this bulletin.  Please take the time to review it as well as your plan for your child if school should close early

From all of us at Church Lane we wish you all the best that the holiday can bring to a wonderful community such as ours!

Cordially,

Judith Callanan Devlin

All students will be given a Student Handbook during the first weeks of school.  The Code of Conduct will also be introduced to our students.  Each afternoon teachers will conduct lessons that will encourage our students’ success with this program and your children will be talking about it at home.  Each night your child must have their daily calendar signed by you.  Take time to discuss their success as well as to address those areas of their behavior that might need some attention.  A parent handbook for the Code of Conduct will be sent home for you to review with your child.  After you have done so, please sign the parent page and send back to school.  The Behavior Handbook will be reviewed with all students by the Principal and the Assistant Principal.  Students will return a signed page of the handbook that indicates that each child’s parent/guardian has reviewed the handbook.  Church Lane has high expectations for student behavior. The school rules are explained to our students and each week all of our students have the opportunity to be part of the Friday Reward Celebration.
